ABOUT ABD Photography

Hi, I'm Andrea Brooke D'Alessandro, owner of ABD Photography, a photographer, mom, nature lover, and Jersey Shore local based in Bayville, New Jersey. I've been photographing professionally since 2014, documenting weddings, families, and meaningful milestones throughout New Jersey and beyond.

I studied Photography at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where I developed a deep appreciation for both digital and analog photography. Today, I photograph with a combination of professional digital cameras and vintage 35mm film cameras, allowing me to document your story in a way that feels timeless, honest, and true to life.

One thing that sets my work apart is my editing philosophy. I don't use AI editing programs, automated editing services, or trendy filters. Every gallery is edited entirely by hand from start to finish.

Instead of applying the same preset to every session, I create a custom color profile for each individual wedding or portrait session. I carefully edit every gallery based on the lighting, location, weather, and colors unique to your day. My goal is to preserve your memories as they actually looked. Skin tones stay natural, greens remain true, sunsets keep their warmth, and every gallery has its own original look rather than being forced into the same editing style.

Film photography is a little different, and that's one of the reasons I love it so much.

With film, there is an element of science that no editing software can recreate. I can control my camera settings, choose my film stock, and expose each frame carefully, but the final image is also influenced by the available light, the characteristics of the film itself, and the traditional chemical developing process. Every roll responds a little differently, creating subtle variations in color, grain, and contrast that make each image one of a kind. Those beautifully imperfect qualities are what make film photography so special. Sometimes the images have a dreamy or nostalgic look that people compare to a filter, but nothing is added afterward. That's simply how film naturally captures light.

My style blends gently guided portraits with candid, documentary photography. I love capturing the real moments that happen between poses, the laughter, quiet glances, happy tears, and genuine interactions that tell the complete story of your day.

Before photographing weddings full time, I worked with schools and families creating children's portraits. That experience taught me how to connect with people quickly, help them feel comfortable, and create natural expressions instead of forced smiles. Whether I'm photographing a small family session or a wedding celebration, my goal is always to make the experience feel relaxed and enjoyable.

When I'm not behind the camera, you'll usually find me spending time with my family, tending to our bees and garden, hiking local trails, or searching the Jersey Shore for sea glass and interesting stones. Nature has always inspired my work, and that appreciation for natural light and authentic moments carries into every session I photograph.

I offer both in-home and on-location sessions throughout New Jersey and am always happy to travel. Pets are always welcome because they're part of your family and deserve to be included in your story.

More than anything, I believe photography should preserve memories honestly. Trends come and go, but genuine moments never go out of style. My goal is to create photographs that will still feel authentic decades from now and remind you exactly how your day looked and felt.

If you're looking for a photographer who values authenticity, true-to-life color, handcrafted editing, and genuine storytelling, I'd love to tell your story.

“Andrea went above and beyond to make our elopement/small wedding incredibly memorable. From the moment we first communicated via email, I knew that she was the one that I wanted to capture our intimate event. She is responsive, thorough, kind, thoughtful and extraordinarily creative. Andrea even gave us detailed recommendations for restaurants to eat dinner at afterwards as she is local to the area where we had our ceremony. She was a joy to have as part of our special day...”
